Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne Kaleidoscope Palette

In case you hadn't noticed, I love colour. I especially love colour on my eyes, because life is too short to wear neutral colours day in, day out.

The Urban Decay Kaleidoscope palette appeared on my Instagram news feed before it was officially launched, and I must admit I wasn't overly excited for it. That was until I saw it in real life and swatched a couple of the bright, eye catching shades.

I had also not been aware of Kristen Leanne... Sorry! Anyway, within this collection there are two eyeshadow palettes, a highlighter palette, three lipsticks, and three liquid lipsticks. The Daydream palette is gorgeous if neutrals are more your thing, as it has five matte shades perfect for everyday.

The Kaleidoscope palette has nine shades, and two duotones that can be layered over any of the other shadows to create a colour shifting effect. If you shy away from colourful eyeshadow, this palette would probably be your worst nightmare.

The two bottom shades, Dye and Corona are the standout colours for me. They are both so smooth and Corona is so pigmented, it really took me by surprise. Dye requires a bit more work to get the shade to translate onto the eyes, but once it's on it's beautiful. The satin shades are definitely more pigmented than the matte shades, but this just means the latter require a bit more effort when working with them.

In terms of packaging and presentation, I don't know if I am a big fan of how all of the colours are laid out. The fact they are different shapes and there's no continuity makes it look slightly cheap, but I think the range of shades and potential to create so many different looks really makes up for it. They even included a matte orange shade, perfect for a transition colour.  I must also mention the double ended brush that is included in the palette, as it's actually quite soft and useful. Hooray!

This collection is limited edition, so if you're interested you would need to snap it up quickly! This palette is £28 and is available along with the rest of the Kristen Leanne collection right here.

Benefit Gold Rush Blusher

If there's one thing Benefit do well, it's blushers. This time last year I was head over heels in love with my beloved Galifornia blusher, and now there's a new box o' powder on the Bene-block.

Gold Rush is described as a 'rich golden-nectar', scented with sandalwood and vanilla. The packaging has a western theme, and the blusher itself resembles a golden nugget. Like Galifornia, it has a gold overspray, and although this disappears after a couple of uses, it still has a certain luminosity about it, which I love.

BPerfect Dark Watermelon Mousse

I am a huge fan of the BPerfect liquid tan, so when I saw they were launching a mousse I was so excited. As much as I loved the colour and wear of the original liquid tan, the spray pump eventually began to get on my nerves as it wasn't dispensing a lot of product onto my mitt. So the prospect of a normal, easy to use pump was the answer to my tanning prayers.

The mousse comes in three shades, medium coconut, dark watermelon, and ultra dark mango. I opted for dark watermelon as that is the shade I have in the original liquid tan, and it's dark enough for me.

Lime Crime Venus XL Palette

I am new to Lime Crime eyeshadows, so I had absolutely no idea what to expect when I purchased this palette. It was the array of pink, berry, and burgundy shades that initially caught my eye, and after watching numerous YouTube videos about it, I eventually took the plunge and ordered it.

First of all, the packaging is beautiful. The front is graced with Venus herself, looking super glam and warm toned. I love how the colours used in the outer packaging reflect what's inside, and each colour is separated by reflective gold giving it a very luxurious feel. It is a cardboard palette which I know some people frown upon, but it is pretty sturdy and even comes with a decent sized mirror.

Lime Crime state there are metallic, matte, and 'glow' finishes. The glow finish really intrigued me, as it's not a shimmer or a glitter, more like a luminous matte. There are even some mattes that contain a fleck of sparkle throughout which is quite interesting. One of the things I really love about this palette is that it contains great transition colours, crease colours, darker outer corner shades and gorgeous all over the lid colours. So basically you won't need any other palette to create and complete an eye look.

LOLA Make Up: New Favourite Lip Liner?

I am a make up junkie and there's nothing I love more than trying new things. So when I was sent some goodies from a brand called LOLA, I was so excited because I don't think I had come across their products before (I don't know how, because everything looks fab).

I was lucky enough to receive an eyeshadow, matte lipstick, and a lip liner, all of which are encased in gorgeous matte black packaging. The products definitely look and feel a lot more expensive than they are, but I'll talk more about that later!

LOLA currently sponsor Britain's Next Top Model and are cruelty free, which is a massive plus for me.

One of the products I received is a gorgeous matte red lipstick called 'Merry Berry' (I almost typed Mary Berry...). Anyone who knows me knows that I never wear a red lip, simply because I love wearing colour on my eyes and anything other than a nude lip colour looks too 'tarty' as my mum would say! I am pleased that this shade is out of my comfort zone though, and actually couldn't wait to wear it. It is matte without being dry and goes perfectly over the lip liner, it also made my teeth look fabulously white.

The lip liner is in the shade 'Cherry', which is again a red but with a slight orangey tone, and I was so surprised at how pigmented and soft the lip liner was to apply. It literally glides onto the lips, it's so easy to control and although it's soft, it's not too soft so it doesn't smudge everywhere. You also get a handy brush on the other end to apply your gloss or lipstick, how handy is that?

I am an eyeshadow fanatic, and squealed with joy when I saw the shade I had been sent. It's number 42, and is a peachy, rose colour with a slight gold sheen. I used it on the inner third of my eyelid and as it's a satin finish and I loved the colour so much, I also used it as a blusher. It reminds me a bit of a Nars blusher, it's the same kind of shade but a lot less shimmery.

As I mentioned earlier, the packaging is very sleek and I am especially pleased with the lipstick as it's sturdy and isn't one of those likely to pop open in your bag, which is a strong dislike of mine. I am definitely going to check out the rest of the shades in the lip liners because I think I need them all.

Everything in the LOLA range is afforable and I am so impressed by the high quality. You can have a look at their site here.
