Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Foundation

Bobbi Brown recently launched a new liquid foundation, and of course I had to try it for myself. I have used very few of their products so I really had no idea what to expect. The sample shade I was given is called 'Warm Natural', described as olive tanned beige with yellow undertones, as I am almost always wearing fake tan.

On my first use I had a minor panic as I thought it was perhaps a bit too dark, however once blended out it actually matched my tanned neck really well. It is more on the yellow side which I love and it smells quite herbally, much like Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It's not a strong scent and it's quick to fade once applied to the face.

As far as finish goes, this is matte but not dry nor cakey. It gives a more natural matte look to the skin, but on me I also look glowy and fresh; The brand describes it as 'multidimensional'. It also contains SPF15 and is paraben free, something which gets a big thumbs up from me. I have included two photos in this post, the first taken in artificial light, the other in natural light, and neither have any editing nor filters applied.

Also, once this foundation dries it stays put. I only noticed slight separating issues on my chin but I had been putting salicylic acid on this area to help with a few blemishes, so I put it down to that. Everywhere else looked great and it didn't feel sticky, or gloopy throughout the day, which I loved. It actually makes my skin really soft to the touch, and doesn't look like I am wearing a thick, heavy foundation.

I am really impressed by the finish, staying power and overall look of this foundation on my skin. I was hoping I wouldn't love it as much as I do, because it's a little on the pricier side (£31), but if I am still loving it by payday, I might just have to treat myself.

You can have a look at the shade range and find more details on the Debenhams site.

  1. I have been using their foundation for the last six months and I am absolutely in love with this. I did makeup lesson from professional Lina Cameron as well, which helped me a lot to improve my skills. Getting a professional makeup lesson may help you to improve your skills too.
